Looking for a fairly normal roommate to share an older (which equals character :-) 2.5 bedroom row house between CSU and The Cleveland Clinic. I'm already established in the smaller bedroom, so you could have the larger bedroom and could use the other small room for an office or what have you. There's a full basement with a washer and dryer & plenty of storage space.

Rent would be $450 a month, with all utilities, plus cable & wireless internet, included. Rent would also be on a month-to-month basis, for my benefit as well as yours. I love animals, but have no pets due to busy schedule and periodic house and dog-sitting for other people. A couple cats would be okay, as long as they're fixed and de-clawed. This may be inhumane, but that's the deal.

A little about myself: I'm a gay male who's also active in AA & the recovery community. I don't drink nor smoke. Music is my drug of choice these days. I work full-time. I'm also going to school full-time, doing my internship at CSU, and mentoring a teen. So I will not spend alot of time at home, unfortunately for me. That's part of the reason why I'm looking for a roommate. There's all this empty space & I'm hardly ever there.

I don't care if you're male or female, gay or straight, or in a recovery program. But what is important is that you not have any drugs or alcohol in the home, at least in huge quantities. If you go out and drink occasionally with friends, whatnot, that's cool. It's also important to be clean. I hesitate to say OCD clean....but clean.

Two mid-twenties professional males looking for housemate to share our half of 4BR side-by-side duplex in Cleveland Heights. The duplex is split with a big brick wall and most of the time you can't even tell anyone lives on the other side. The other side is occupied by a nice young couple with a new baby. They are friendly. The house is about halfway between Cedar-Lee and Coventry. You can walk to either one in about 10 minutes. Close to public transportation. The second floor bedroom is 11'10" x 11'5". The bedroom is furnished with a nice IKEA full bed with a good matress, two side-stands, two dressers, and two mirrors. It also has a ceiling fan and hardwood floors. It has a closet and there is a lot of storage room available elsewhere in the house.

In addition, I use one bedroom as my office and roommates can share office space with me for their computer, desk, etc.

The remainder of the house is shared among all of the roommates. Large foyer area with a couple of couches, living room with TV and stereo. Kitchen with dishes, many pots and pans, and dishwasher. Basement has very nice front-load washer and newer dryer.

Ideal roommate would be social and not mind sharing the common entertainment areas. We don't have any pets, but don't mind cats. I am quite busy. I'm not home a lot, but when I am I like to have friends over--but rarely more than one or two at a time. Your gender and age are irrelevant so long as you're cool. :)

-The street is a nice, quite street with lots of big trees. The house is an easy 5-10 minute drive to get to downtown Cleveland via I-90/RT-2/RTA. Lakewood is also very close.
The house is close to CVS, Drug Mart, Walgreens, Target, Steelyard Commons. Grocery stores include two Giant Eagles about 5 minutes away each, and Aldi's close by as well as several convenient stores. There are several bars, sports bars, rock clubs, and places with amateur open-mic nights keep the night life going strong. Lots of restaurants (some 24/7) which feature fast food, diner, pizza, Mexican, Japanese, Thai, etc. Everything is close enough for walking distance.

The long version:

It�s a side by side duplex located on W 114th St 3 houses south off Clifton. It has a shared fenced in backyard, with a deck. It also has a small front patio. Since it�s a side by side it has a separate basement (for storage, and it has a washer/dryer which is awesome). The first floor is a living room, dining room and kitchen. The second floor has 2 bedrooms (master bedroom, and a small den/office space) and a bathroom. The attic is finished, and this would be your room.

It�s a pretty good sized attic if you ask me. It�s a fun space and you can do what you want with it. You could use one half as a small living area, and the other for your bedroom. The attic has brand new carpet, is freshly painted, and has brand new blinds. You can get cable up there as well. I�ve got a wireless router, so you should be able to pull the signal from there too.

The street is a nice, quite street with lots of big trees (if you are good with google maps you can find the street and check it out. 1295 W. 114th st. 44102) The rent is $340 each/month. The landlord pays the water and sewer so we would be responsible for gas/electric. We would also be splitting the cable, and internet bill. The house has a 3 yr. old furnace but no AC. It also has all new windows so the utilities are good.

The parking is street parking and usually is right in front of the house. The house is located in a pretty good spot, a few interesting looking bars nearby, close to a grocery store, public transport, etc. This house isn�t exactly in the middle of the coolest part of Cleveland, or Lakewood. But, it�s close enough to both with out having to go to far one way or the other to get there. It�s a 3 to 5 min. drive to get downtown, or to some cool spots in Lakewood. You can pretty much take Clifton East and West to anywhere.

The house is pretty much 100% furnished. You would just need to fill out your room with whatever you need to be comfortable. I planned on using the small room on the 2nd floor as an office/2nd TV, just in case we don�t like what the other is watching, or could be used for a guest. I have a 27 inch TV in the living room, so if you have a larger one, that would be awesome. I have a DVD player with surround sound, microwave, blender, George forman grill, small coffee maker, pots, pans, plates, a decent spice collection, printer/fax/scanner, copy paper, toaster oven/convection oven thing, utensils, kitchen stuff, area rugs through out, curtains, silverware, etc. Therefore, if you just have a bed and some clothing to bring to the table, then this is a good set up for you =) Just respect my stuff is all that I ask in return.

About Me:

I'm easy to get along with, friendly, fun, professional and responsible. I�m a 34 straight male, full time job, and mainly work from home M-F 8am-5pm. I typically go to bed around 11pm or 12am, and get up about 7:45am M-F. I have a small black pug as well.

I am relatively quiet and I don't mind having people over but don't want any insanely loud house parties, etc. I typically don�t drink a whole lot during the week. I might have a few beers here and there, but trying to cut back and get in better physical shape. I usually like to go out on the weekends, or stay in from time to time. I enjoy hitting up bars, Comedy clubs, live concerts, festivals, Cleveland sporting events, etc. Or, if I stay in, I usually just watch a movie, drink some beers and chill.

-I�m not a neat freak, but I am tidy. As long as you clean up after yourself and don�t throw all your stuff around then that�s great. From my experience it�s probably best if we do set some ground rules about who takes out the garbage, divide up some cleaning task�s, etc. I�ve had some issues with that in the past, so it�s just a thought.

The bedrooms are located on the second floor and are your basic bedroom with closet space, this one has shelving and high shelves in the bedroom also to set photos or memorabilia. Three and a half bathrooms are also on this floor. We have another one and a half (1 +1/2) bathrooms on the main floor, so there is plenty of bathroom availability so each person who is renting from us has their own private bathroom. At this time we have two male tenants and would accept male or female. All of us work full time, but varying schedules so there are many hours of quiet time at the house.

The shared open-spaced kitchen/dining/living area is located downstairs on the main floor, and there are two shared family/living rooms, one is upstairs and one is on the main floor. Also just off the main floor is an attached indoor patio that runs the full width of the house which we use for large get-togethers about twice a year when needed (and you could too!) and for temporary storage and projects. Skylights up in the rec room and out on the patio provide atmosphere for recreation such as shooting hoops in the half-court, or working out on your own.

The basement laundry area includes a brand-new energy efficient washer and a gas-dryer along with space for air-drying clothes and a long table for folding and sorting plus an ironing board. Our triple-wide driveway accomodates six cars so there is plenty of room there too.

You will have complete privacy and quiet in your bedroom and bathroom plus most days you could have a quiet house on all three levels because although we are all very friendly here, we have our separate lives/obligations and oftentimes don't see each other for days. We are looking for someone who is similarly busy, friendly and respectful.

No pets. No smoking (outdoors - ok). NO out-of-country email requests.

Avon Lake is located 35 minutes west of downtown Cleveland (20 miles) in Lorain County. There is bus service to downtown Cleveland just a quick 2-block walk to the end of the street (i.e. to Lake Road). Our home is in a quiet residential area.
