This hard-to-find token (medal or coin) was issued in 1935 for the Silver Anniversary of the Ludwig & Ludwig drum company, which already had become the largest manufacturer of percussion instruments in the world. There is no "mark" for manufacturer or composition, but it is composed of very bright silver-toned aluminum. This token measures approximately 33 mm (1-5/16") in diameter. This item is in very good condition, with very light wear, toning, and it is a very bright silver color. Please see all photos. This item was very well-struck , with bold, three-dimensional images and lettering. This token was found in a very old music store with other items from 1900-1940s.
One side has a great image of a drummer in a Revolutionary War uniform, with the words "LUDWIG & LUDWIG TWENTY-FIVE YEARS OF PROGRESS 1910-1935", along the rim. The reverse side has an image of two hands playing a snare drum, with the words "LUDWIG & LUDWIG SILVER ANNIVERSARY" along the rim.
