These interesting 3-way speakers are from around 1980 and are not that easy to find these days. When I bought them they needed a lot of work. Not surprising the woofers needed re-foamed, but the crossovers needed a complete rebuild. The crossover in these speakers is pretty robust for a speaker from this era, with quite a lot of capacitance, mostly due to low system impedance. They were sold as 4-8 ohm impedance, but are actually 4 ohms through most of the audio range.
The drivers are all original, and they sound quite impressive. Rated at 42-32k Hz +/- 3db, the bass is nice and warm and due to the sealed cabinet gives a nice in room extension.
They are in nice vintage condition, but the bottom edges of the cabinets have some separation, which is shown in the pictures. The cabinets are still sealed, and the blemishes are generally not visible when in use.
They work best with amps that are comfortable with 4 ohm loads and capable of more than 50 watts. I’ve been using them with a B&K ST202 which is a nice match.
Should be used on stands, which are not included with the speakers.
