Do you take pride in keeping equipment running right - catching small issues before they become big problems, and following a preventive maintenance schedule like clockwork?
Are you someone who can look at a piece of industrial machinery, diagnose what's wrong, and methodically work through the fix - whether it's mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic?
Do you hold yourself to a high standard when it comes to your workspace - because you understand that a clean, organized facility is a safe and efficient one?
Are you looking for a hands-on role where no two days are exactly the same, your problem-solving skills are put to real use, and the work you do directly keeps a production floor running?
If yes, we invite you to apply for the position of Maintenance Technician at TCH Industries.
How to Apply
Step 1 - Complete our Culture Index work-trait survey (required before your application will be reviewed):
TCH Industries has been a cornerstone in the industrial hose industry since 1983. We manufacture and distribute industrial, hydraulic, and metal hose assemblies and associated components serving customers across manufacturing, construction, automotive, aerospace, and beyond. We are a growing company - expanding through strategic acquisitions and adding capabilities at multiple locations in Northeast Ohio.
Koehler Rubber & Supply Co. (now operating as TCH Koehler LLC, dba Koehler Rubber) brings more than a century of expertise to our combined organization. Founded in 1917, Koehler Rubber has spent over 100 years supplying Ohio and the Midwest with specialty fluid application products. Their team includes certified specialists in hose and fitting assembly specification, lubrication system design, pumping and dispensing systems, spray finishing, and factory-authorized service and repair.
Together, TCH Industries and Koehler Rubber represent more than 140 combined years of industry expertise operating from a consolidated location in Cleveland. Our production floor runs because of the people who maintain it - and we take that seriously.
The Role
The Maintenance Technician is a critical, hands-on role responsible for keeping our production equipment and facility running safely and efficiently. You will own the preventive maintenance program for our industrial machinery - including hydraulic presses, hose assembly equipment, and fluid transfer systems - and respond to repair needs when equipment goes down.
This role works closely with our Production Manager and production team. You are not just fixing things when they break; you are the person preventing them from breaking in the first place. Beyond equipment, you will take ownership of facility cleanliness and workspace standards - because a well-maintained facility is a reflection of how we operate. If you are a self-directed problem-solver who takes quiet pride in the work behind the scenes, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment, including hydraulic presses, hose assembly equipment, and fluid transfer systems - on schedule, every time
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues; determine root cause, not just the symptom
Repair or replace defective parts and components; work with the Production Manager to prioritize downtime and minimize production impact
Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and equipment history
Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies; identify and order parts before they're needed, not after
Perform facility upkeep including cleaning and maintaining common areas, workspaces, and production areas to a consistent standard
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and TCH Industries' safety policies
Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency - and bring those ideas forward
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; vocational or technical training in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, or a related field is a strong plus
Experience in industrial maintenance with demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic systems - hands-on experience matters more than credentials
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and equipment schematics
Proficiency with hand and power tools standard to industrial maintenance work
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills - you think through a problem before reaching for a wrench
Detail-oriented and thorough in documentation; accurate maintenance records are part of the job
Reliable and self-directed; able to manage a preventive maintenance schedule with minimal oversight
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs; able to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for extended periods
Comfortable working in varying industrial conditions - temperature, noise, and environment vary by area and season
Strong commitment to workplace safety and OSHA compliance
