Bought this from an elderly gentleman who hadn't ridden this bike for years. Went through the entire bike with no intention of selling but realize moto is more my thing. This bike runs and rides great and is AMA Vintage Days and AHRMA legal.
Here is a rundown of the work I did to make sure it would be reliable. I've put 5.5 hours on the bike. Have title.
New Pro X piston and rings. High compression head gasket. Both the cylinder and bottom end were in excellent shape. New spark plug.
Power valve disassembled and cleaned.
Clutch disassembled and cleaned. All the plates as well as the basket fingers were in excellent shape.
All new gaskets and seals for the motor including the main bearing seals. New water pump seal.
Bead blast and paint the Pro Circuit Works pipe, no dents anywhere. FMF Powercore silencer with new packing.
Replace the Keihin PW carburetor with a brand new PWK model. Jetted properly for the pipe.
New air cleaner.
Paint the parts of the motor that had factory paint.
Good thorough cleaning every inch of the bike.
All suspension pivot bearings inspected and greased. No slop anywhere. Grease fittings for most pivots.
Inspect and grease steerer neck bearings.
Front forks disassembled, cleaned, and refilled with the proper oil.
Rear shock disassembled, inspected, new bottom out bumper and seal head installed, proper oil and nitrogen charge.
New DID X-ring chain and Primary Drive sprockets.
New Pirelli MT 16 tires, new STI heavy duty tubes. New Tube Saddle foam inserts to reduce pinch flats.
Spokes properly torqued and rims properly offset.
Wheel bearings inspected and properly greased.
New brake pads and rotor bolts, brakes properly bled with DOT 4 brake fluid.
New Galfer stainless steel front brake line.
Used KTM Brembo front brake master cylinder for really good stopping power.
New heavy duty radiator shroud graphics from Europe.
New front number plate.
Used but very nice RM250 rear fender.
New tank decals.
New tank fuel shut off.
Used Acerbis frame guards.
New high bar mounts with new CR High bend bars.
Cleaned and lubed the clutch and throttle cables.
New Moose seat grab strap.
Used but very nice Moose heavy duty aluminum skid plate.
New Ricochet heavy duty 4mm thick aluminum pipe guard.
New wide foot pegs.
Brake snakes on both the shifter and brake pedal.
