Vintage 1950's Bell & Howell CR80F / Shure 410 controlled reluctance microphone Hi Z harp /harmonica mic w cable - This is a 1950's Shure Brothers 410 model "Hercules" Controlled Reluctance Microphone, private labeled as a Bell & Howell CR80F. The two aforementioned mics are exactly the same internally, but wired for a 1/4" plug to meet B&H needs. Bell & Howell sold the CR80F under a Shure license for its systems use.
Condition: This mic was fully tested by DALAUDIO. It includes the original 7' cloth shielded cable in good operating condition, and the Shure 99H86 labeled Controlled Reluctance Element is present inside. The Controlled Reluctance elements have a classic muddy tone that has been popular with many harp (harmonica) players that love the controlled unique sound. This CR80F has it's unique and original brown/green tone with gold accent finish to match period B&H equipment. This little mic has some weight at nearly a pound (15 oz) of weight, as is features an all metal housing. The condition of the housing is at least 8.5 (scale of 1-10) as the finish is intact, there are no cracks, the cloth is in place, as are the B&H Logos. It's a very nice example of a 1950 period mic.
Dimensions are 3.25" H x 2.75" W x 1.75" at the base, slimming to 1.25" on the body.
