I lowered the price on my Alvarez. Must SELL .......its a GREAT Guitar.....
The guitar is in Mint-Like New condition.....about a year old. This is an Alvarez Masterworks MDR70 12-fret Slope Shouldered dreadnought. All solid woods: Solid Sitka Spruce top and solid East Indian Rosewood back/sides. It has a beautiful sunburst finish and is constructed with Alvarez quality and craftmanship. The pictures really don't do it justice, beautiful sunburst finish.. Its short 12 fret scale and sloped shoulders makes it is easy to handle and fun to play.
Sale includes a very protective Alvarez hard bag, full factory paperwork, and truss rod tool.
This 12-fret dreadnought is loud....louder than you may hear on a 14-fret instrument. As is often overstated ...." its a cannon." I actually prefer it over my Martin D28, which I have since sold. The the tone is thicker and richer than a 14 fret. It is easy to play and resonant. Hear it to believe how good it sounds.
The 12-fret joint puts the bridge in the middle of the soundboard that gives a more efficient, bigger sound. Fingerpickers and chord-backup folks will enjoy that extra volume and depth to the bass and the roundness of the sound. It also means the neck is sort-of "brought in" closer to the body so cowboy-chord sessions have less of the "hand way out there" feel. The slotted headstock is a nice touch, too.
These are being offered at $999 and up online. I am selling mine at a discount of $550. These run $1000 currently on Reverb. Its a fine instrument and plays as good, or better, than more expensive models from Martin, Taylor, Gibson, Larrivee, Guild and Yamaha.
Here's an interesting comparison of 12 vs 14 fret.
