This gorgeous 2007 Rickenbacker 650D "Dakota" is in excellent condition for it's age.

The wiring has been modified to turn the bridge humbucker into a coil tapped single coil by rolling the volume control back a partial turn. It is very subtle and can be achieved while playing without hearing it switch on. This feature gives it a more classic Rick chime and is supposed to sound like the "toaster" pickups. I don't have anything to compare it to but the tone sounds pretty close to my other 2, high gain stock Ricks.

The roll back feature works in all 3 switch positions, giving you twice as many tone options for your buck!

This beauty also features a high gain, single coil neck pickup. The previous humbucker failed and is included in the deal. It also has the rollback feature to take it from a high gain tone to a "toaster tone". It is well balanced with the bridge pickup and delivers the classic tone all day long. Add distortion and you have the fat, juicy lead sound that can only be had with this pickup and with way less of the typical hum.

The neck is wide and thick, making solos a pleasure as opposed to struggling with the narrow necks that Rick is known for. The through the body design gives you maximum sustain like no other guitar I have ever played. This baby just loves distortion! It also has a wide variety of clean sounds from smooth to twangy to classic jangle. It will probably become your favorite guitar in no time!

She only has a few minor visible surface scratches and light signs of pitting on the chrome plate that are difficult to see, let alone photograph. Chrome is reflecting the textured ceiling, hence the spots in some photos. The back of the neck has one slightly noticeable divot that could easily be sanded out. The frets show almost no signs of wear and the action is set very low. Electronics and tuners work flawlessly with incredible stability. Comes with a non-standard, hard shell case that is in very good shape and fully functioning, with only minor road rash. Condition rating of this guitar is 8.9 out of 10. I hate to part with her but my stable is getting full...

If you've always wanted a Rick but didn't like the narrow neck, 21 frets and the hum, this beauty is for you!
