This is the no truss rod year due to the war. It has the desired let chunky neck.
It had been oversprayed with 6 coats of auto paint which I removed most of. I constructed a period correct bridge and also replaced the bridge plate. The neck angle under tension was perfect and the neck was perfectly straight. The action was low and could be raised higher with a saddle replacement. Over time it would be good if the neck bowed slightly to give correct neck relief.
The tone, volume and sustain was outstanding and rivalled my big body Gibson from the 1930s.
This guitar was sold and shipped to New York. FedEx crushed the box during transit resulting in the damage you can see.
The pictures illustrate the good action and setup prior to the shipping damage and what you could expect to return the guitar to if you can get the top back to where it was and fix 1 broken brace.
Selling as is.
These sell for $3500 to $4000 and sometimes higher if in good condition. There is plenty of upside.
