Guitarist & Bassist who have been on the local Cleveland scene since the mid 90's are currently looking for a Lead Singer and Drummer to complete a cover band project we've had in the works for some time now. Are YOU the missing piece to the puzzle?
Our concept is to put on an "Arena Rock" show in clubs and any stage that will book us. We currently have a name and image concept but we'd rather keep this to ourselves until we meet up with you. As far as music goes we are looking play (mostly) Rock, Hair Rock & Pop tunes from the 80s (perhaps with a few odd-ball choice tunes you normally wouldn't expect to hear at a club) "Arena Rock" style. The two of us come from the "Big Hair" scene so we are accustomed to putting on a show for the folks who are paying money to see us. We have no desire to be boring on stage! The plan is to play music that'll keep girls on the floor dancing so the guys will keep buying drinks. That way the club makes money, we make money and, hopefully, be asked to come back again.
As this is a work in progress we know we're going to have to start small but we are looking to eventually have a bigger production (backdrops, merchandise, etc) and, also, eventually, get to a level where we will be playing fairs, rib cookoffs, bike nights at Quaker Steak, Rockin' On the River and so on.
When it comes to gigs we looking at 2 to 3 times a month to start out with. If the demand is there, and people want to book us, then we would add more shows. The ideal plan is to do at least two shows on the East side and two on the West side a month. Not wanting to over-saturate any one area at a time but hopefully going by the idea of somebody coming out to see us and they tell their friends "Oh, you gotta check out this band next time they come around" and then we'd be in the area again relatively soon.
Our ideal Lead Singer will (hopefully) have previous experience and can command an audience and hold them in their hand. Whether the singer is male or female makes no difference to us as long as they can keep the crowd entertained and out on the dance floor. Enthusiasm, energetic, dynamic, engaging and FUN! That's what we're looking for! Egos, on the other hand need not apply. The same goes with our ideal drummer: solid, steady and reliable male or female doesn't make a difference. Vocal/backing vocal ability and flash are HUGE bonuses but are not mandatory. Both Lead Singer and Drummer will also be Team Players (translation: the singer helps carry gear when we gig) with a "All For One / One For All" attitude. Do you fit the bill?
We are based on the West Side and practice at the guitarists' house in Parma (usually) on Saturday afternoons. Both of us are in our 40's and we have, just like all of you do, I'm sure, full time jobs so we get the whole working around work schedule thing. We may be able to fit in the occasional Friday night or Sunday afternoon as well. We have our own P.A. so the singer just needs to bring their microphone. If the drummer has vocal abilities and has their own microphone then they would need to bring that along as well.
We know this is a pretty lengthy read so if you made it to the end then we thank you for taking the time to read it. This pretty much spells out everything we are looking for and (hopefully) answers whatever questions you may have. Any other questions? Please feel free to get in touch!
So, do you think you have what it takes? If so, then drop either of us a line:
