I'm an independent scholar, here in Cleveland for the summer and through at least December (& maybe a lot longer. Historically I have averaged about four years). I'm also open to going in with others to rent a place together.
I'm working on a big personal project to build free, open-source software to let people with ordinary computers answer questions about the causes and consequences of economic inequality. I'm hoping to finish this in the fall and then train groups of users scattered around Northern Ohio, MI & PA. You can learn more about me if you Google J. Andrew Hoerner.
I have lived in various kinds of shared housing for most of the last 40 years and prefer to do so. I get along well with people of any age, race, or sexual orientation. I like to cook and enjoy cooking for others. My ideal is to live with people who enjoy novelty and diversity and who support and care about one another -- thoughtful people who want to make the world a better place, and look for solutions to any conflicts that benefit everyone.
I'm looking either for a room big enough to also be an office, with space for a big desk/table and couple of bookcases and good light, or for a room with some space outside of the room where I could set up a desk and a bookcase. Could be furnished or unfurnished -- I have furniture in storage. And I need some kind of parking.
I'm open to a pretty wide range of neighborhoods. Hoping for mixed use, walkable, diverse -- Imagine a corridor from around Shaker Square to Coventry, then down Mayfield hill to University Circle, past CSU, through Downtown to Ohio City.
P.S. Re photo -- I like this photo, but it is a couple of years old, and I have just recently shaved off my beard and most of my head hair, so I look a bit different.
P.P.S. I WILL NOT RESPOND TO ANY MESSAGE UNLESS IT INCLUDES THE ADDRESS OF THE UNIT. I will under no circumstances rent a house unless I have seen it in person and and met the people in it, also in person. So if you are a deposed prince/temporarily out of the country/need a deposit before I can see the place, please move on. Sorry about the caps and the unfriendly tone, but I have been getting more scam responses than I can deal with. If you are legit, I really do want to hear from you.
